Whey Protein
Whey protein is by far one of the most popular supplements especially with the bodybuilding and weightlifting folk. Most whey protein is derived from dairy products. Milk protein allotment for example is approximately 20% whey and 80% casein protein.
The reason it is so popular is in part due to the fact that it is absorbed so quickly by your body. This is a huge benefit for someone who needs quick nutrition after their workout. It is also a complete protein which means it contains all the essential amino acids.
Most everybody recognizes that protein is the building block of muscle but which protein is the best. Well if you're active and looking to replenish yourself afterwards then thats the perfect
place to add in whey protein.
On the other hand Whey protein is not ideal as a meal replacement or diet shake. This is because as we noted earlier whey is absorbed into your body quickly, this means that it will not keep you full for very long and that it may be stored as fat (thought not much it's still quite low calorie) if you body doesn't need to use it. A more suitable protein in such a situation would be a slow digesting one such as casein.
